Essential for smooth shave Does what it says.Softens the beard but most importantly does not leave you feeling greasy afterwards.If Molton Brown ever produce a shaving foam that will be in my bathroom as well. 16 May 2013

A great shave. I was dubious about using this product as I had always used foam or gel. I was pleasantly surprised what a close shave I was able to achieve. The product application was easy and gave just enough protection for my skin and an easy glide for the razor. I will definetly be buying more of this. 23 January 2013

The best you can use for shaving Works perfect with my sensitive skin. I needed two or three days to find out how to use it the best way. The shaving result is perfect and it´s very smooth to my skin. Last but not least I love the scent of it. What a pitty that I needed more than 30 years to find the Molton Brown products. The present all "my boys" love All the important men in my life love black pepper. I made up my own gift sets of Black Pepper shave oil and shower gel, along with hydrating face balm. Perhaps MB could do this themselves next year? 27 December 2012

Excellent shave everytime I use a 'wet' electric razor, but don't like the shaving lotion supplied in the sachets. I've tried other shave oils, but they all tended to leave a film of oil on the sink. Gels, although touted as 'non foaming', always whipped up into a foaming mass and never gave a good shave. This however is spot-on. I find that two pumps, massaged into the skin is all that's needed to give a great shave, with no oily film or foamy aftermath in the sink. The bonus is you also get the fantastic aroma of Re-charge Black Pepper. 4 October 2012

The best shave oil ! i have tried many different shave oils and always come back to this one. In conjunction with shaving soap and a good blade receive a smooth and cut free shave with the great black pepper fragrance, and little to no razor burn afterwards too! I use in conjunction with MB ultralight bai ji hydrtator. 11 September 2012

Smooths out electric shave I use this with my Panasonic electric razor. Fo this use I find it works better than other products, including King of Shaves. I have also used it occasionally for wet shaving where I find it works less well than say MBs Citron Ultrashave. For my use this is my product of choice. 24 July 2012

Not the best Sadly not one of MBs usual excellent products. It doesn't allow the razor to glide easily compared to say the King of Shaves oil products unless you use a lot of it. However it does still have the great black pepper aroma 29 May 2012
